Large Cat Workshop
Join us for a creative and engaging two-part workshop where you'll design and create your own unique ceramic cat. Guided by our experienced studio team, you will sculpt, personalise and decorate your piece before it is professionally fired and finished at Monte Lupo Arts.

Location: Monte Lupo Arts, 269 Padstow Road, Eight Mile Plains
Please note: Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times in the studio.
Workshop Program
Week 1: Sculpting
Saturday 3 April 2027 | 9:00am - 3:00pm
Participants will be provided with a board of coils and you will be shown how to sculpture your cat by our instructors, you will learn how to assemble your sculptues the head, legs and tail once you have sculpted the body you can then add your own creative details and personality to the cat. Finished sculpture approx 50cm tall.
Week 2: Decorating
Saturday 10 April 2027 | 9:00am - 12:00pm
In the second session, you will decorate your turtle using a selection of underglaze colours and slips. Participants will focus on detailing the head, legs and tail, creating a vibrant and individual finished piece.
Workshop Information
This workshop has been carefully structured over two sessions to allow sufficient time for construction, drying and decoration, with all materials included in the workshop fee.
Attendance at each session is strongly recommended to ensure the best outcome for your artwork. If you are unable to attend a class, a makeup session may be available through another scheduled workshop or by arrangement with the Studio Manager. Additional tuition fees may apply.
Please note that participants are not permitted to access or work in the studio outside of scheduled workshop times unless prior approval has been granted by the Studio Manager.
Should additional time be required to complete your artwork, this can be discussed with the Studio Manager and arranged subject to availability.
In the event of drying delays, kiln schedules, staffing requirements or other unforeseen circumstances, Monte Lupo reserves the right to adjust workshop timelines. Where necessary, alternative class times will be offered.
While every effort is made to ensure the successful completion of all artwork, any minor repairs or finishing required due to breakages or manufacturing issues may be undertaken by Monte Lupo staff.
Workshop Terms and Conditions
By booking this workshop, you agree to the following:
- Full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Workshops include all materials required to complete the project unless otherwise stated.
- Participants will receive a workshop overview outlining the program and expected outcomes.
- Workshops follow a structured teaching schedule, and attendance at all sessions is recommended.
- Makeup sessions, where available, are charged at $70 per hour.
- Participants may not access the studio unsupervised or outside approved workshop times.
- If additional tuition is required to complete a project, this will be charged at $70 per hour.
- If Monte Lupo postpones or cancels a workshop due to staffing, venue, equipment or material issues, participants will be offered an alternative workshop date.
- Cancellations made more than four weeks prior to the workshop commencement date are eligible for a refund less any applicable booking fees. Cancellations made within four weeks of the commencement date are non-refundable.
- Artwork is handled with the utmost care; however, in the event of accidental breakage or kiln-related damage, Monte Lupo will repair the piece where possible. If repair is not possible, participants will be offered the opportunity to create a replacement piece at no additional cost.
