Wombat Sculpture Workshop — Summary

Overview

A two‑week beginner‑friendly workshop where participants (ages 16+) create and decorate their own wombat sculpture. Perfect for anyone who wants to sculpt a real wombat or invent a whimsical creature of their own.

Location: Monte Lupo Studio, 269 Padstow Rd, Eight Mile Plains
Dates:

• Week 1: Saturday 1 August, 9:00–12:00
• Week 2: Saturday 8 August, 9:00–12:00

What You’ll Do

Week 1 — Sculpting the Wombat

• Learn how to form the body structure
• Explore techniques to give your wombat personality and character

Week 2 — Decorating

• Apply underglazes and surface decoration
• Prepare your sculpture for firing

Note: Not all underglaze colours are provided. If you need a specific colour, you may purchase it from Pottery Supplies, Milton.

After Week 2, the Monte Lupo team will fire your piece. Once finished, it will be ready for pickup.

Workshop Guidelines 

• Workshops must be pre‑booked and prepaid through the Monte Lupo Online Shop.
• You’ll receive a weekly overview outlining goals and included materials.
• Attendance is important due to the structured schedule.
• If you miss a class, a makeup session can be arranged at $70/hour.
• Students cannot work in the studio unsupervised. Extra time beyond the workshop schedule also costs $70/hour.
• If Monte Lupo cancels or postpones a session, makeup classes will be offered.
• To cancel your booking and receive a full refund, you must give at least 4 weeks’ notice before the workshop begins.
• Staff handle and fire pieces with care. If damage occurs and cannot be repaired, you may remake your piece at no extra cost
